ANNOUNCING
HOLIDAYS FOR HEROES-
Christmas 2006
"Holidays for
Heroes”
Whether your soldier is learning the ropes at boot camp, or out
and about in a foreign land, getting a care package from home gives
them the knowledge that people are thinking about them - that's a
huge pick-me-up. Our orders are shipped in white boxes, have
colorful fill to brighten their day and include a
card personalized with a note from you. Our top priorities
are quality of food and products that go into our care packages,
fantastic presentation and top value for your dollar.
We also work tirelessly
supporting our Wounded Soldiers, with transitional backpacks,
personal visits, phone calls, etc. Soldiers' Angels are
100 percent volunteer run
and dedicated to ensuring that our military know they are loved and
supported during and after their deployment into harms way. If you
would like to assist in adopting a Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine
or know of one who wishes to receive mail and care packages from
home, please visit our products page. Help Support Our Troops today!

“ We
will strive to make sure that every soldier deployed in a combat area
receives a gift bag stuffed with small but welcome items and a card with
Holiday greetings."
The bags will contain a coffee mug (With SA logo and name on it!),
hot chocolate and cider mix, candy, an AT&T calling card (at least a 250
min) and a pair of socks.
How can you help?
You could help us get some of these items? You could help raise funds
to help with the postage costs? Offer a challenge within your work
group, club, church, etc. to who can get the most calling cards!!
Air
miles are so important to our mission. Emergencies
arise....Our deployed troops need to get back home immediately because
of a death or serious family illness....A spouse or parent of a wounded
service member needs to get to the hospital where their loved one has
been transported. Unfortunately, they do not always have the resources
to pay for an airline ticket. Your donation of air miles will be
instrumental in getting our troops and their loved ones together as
quickly as possible.
On today's battlefield wounded
American soldiers are no longer hospitalized in the combat area of
operations. Rather they are transported to a
Combat
Support
Hospital for initial
treatment and, if further medical treatment is warranted, the
soldiers are transported to an American hospital in
Germany.
The medical treatment and transportation occur with such speed that
the soldiers often arrive in
Germany
wearing the same uniform that they were wearing when they were
wounded. The soldiers' gear and personal items rarely catch up with
them.

In an effort to provide comfort to
these wounded heroes, the First Response Backpack was
developed by Soldiers' Angels. The First Response Backpack is a
backpack stuffed with personal items which are necessary and vital
to the physical comfort of the soldiers. A typical First Response
Backpack contains a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo, soap and
other hygiene products. It also contains articles of clothing and
undergarments to provide the soldier some relief from the airy
hospital gowns. A phone card is included so that the soldiers can
call their family members while they recover. Each pack also
contains a blanket. The blanket, dubbed a "Blanket of Hope" is
handmade by Soldiers' Angels volunteers and is accompanied by a note
of well wishes for each soldier.
